    Went with 35 regular I’m usually a 34 30 . These fit great. Just need to size up if you have a slight belly. Sitka clothing seems to run a wee bit tight. There is a little stretch in waist band, not much but just enough for a comfortable fit. Legs are fine not terribly long as som have said. They’re tapered so they ride perfect on boot. As for knee pads yes they seem to be low, but when you kneel down they fall into place perfectly. Well designed for intended use. All you need is a good base layer in cold conditions and you’re set to go. Side zippers for heat dumping would make these phenomenal. That would be the only caveat for warm weather hunting. Paired them with the Jet Stream jacket in same camouflage pattern subalpine. Perfect combo for Northeast environments.

    The knees come with easily removable inserts for kneeling outdoors if you don’t want them in there. Fit as expected and look great!

    I bought my first pair of Sitka Mtn Pants in 2016 and have worn them on 2 Alaska hunts, an Oregon elk hunt and many whitetail hunts. They’re still going strong. I added two more pair only to keep fresh on multi day hunts. They are awesome!

    First pair of Sitka pants and this all you need. Light enough for warmer conditions if you are not hiking, and heavy enough with a layer underneath to go into really cold conditions. Knee pads remove easily. Fit true to size in my opinion. 5' 11 and 225 and the 38 was perfect. I wear a 36 in 95% of all jeans.

    Didn't want to drop this much money on some camo, but glad I did. Fit was true to size. Wear a size 33 and the 33R was perfect. If you are going to be wearing an under layer then I suggest going one size up. These pants are lightweight and comfortable. The optifade camo is awesome, had small game coming within 5 yards of me without even noticing me.

    I have been wearing these pants for about 20 times in hikes to prepare for a later hunt. The temps have been from 25-40deg F and I have not been cold on any of the 45 min to 2 hour hikes. On days below 30deg F I have worn thin PolarTech if Kuiu zip-off Merino base layers. They ware well. The knee pads are very nice if you need to kneel and are unobtrusive if not the most comfortable when walking. The padding when kneeling are worth putting up with them wile hiking. I wear a 40 waist in jeans and thought I should size up and purchased a 42" first. I should have listen to most reviewers and order true to size because the 42s are too big and the reordered 40" waist fir fine.

    Just as everyone stated. This is a serious and high quality pair of hunting pants. Expensive yes but you get what you pay for. I was torn between the mountain and timberline pants. Saw a great deal on Amazon from We R Archery on the mountain pants. I will get the timberline next just to complete the kit. I range between a 34 and 36 waist. I’m 5’8” and fluctuate between 180-200 lbs. I got the 35 and fits perfect.

    I've read every review. Drooled over the Sitka gear in all the stores but could never get myself to break down and spend the money. Finally.... I did it.
    I'm not a big fan of buying something like this online but I've been unable to find the plain tan pants in any store. 1st pair show up in the mail. Right off the bat I can tell something isn't right. Turns out the inside of one of the front pockets was sewed to the inside of the zipper seam. No bueno!! A bit disgruntled, I send them back. I almost said "send my my money back and I'll go another brand" but I decided to give Sitka one more try.
    Amazon returns worked as advertised.
    2nd pair show up a few short days later. 1st impression: Not too impressed. Almost remind me of my Dad's old polyester pants. Hmmmm. Try them on and WOW! They fit great. Feel Great.
    For the record I'm 5'11" 195. Normally I wear a 36 waist pants/32" inseam. These pants fit perfectly. Not sure what "athletic cut" means, but these pants fit "normal".
    After a turn through the washing machine, I put them on and head off for a three day hunting trip in the high desert.
    Comfortable in the truck. Plenty of room for the "boys". Comfortable all around. Only gripe: why only one rear pocket? Who decided to put the one pocket on the right side? Either way though, my wallet fit fine in the (one) pocket and I like having the zipper closure to ensure the wallet stays in the pocket.
    Hand pockets are sizeable as well. No issues.
    Six hours in the truck and the pants still look perfect. No wrinkles or bunching.
    Moving through the heavy sage brush, the pants stood up to everything. No rips. No tears. Nice and quiet. I was told the pants completely disappeared when I sat down in the grass. Nice to blend in to the environment when hunting.
    Three days later it's back in the truck for the drive back home. Pants still looking good. Still comfortable. Just 3 days dirty.
    Now they are out of the wash and look just as good as the minute they come out of the package. I'm willing to bet they'll hold up for the next numerous hunting/camping/hiking trips for the next bunch of years.
    OK, 2nd gripe: All the pockets have small zippers on them. That's nice BUT nowhere for my clip on pocket knife. It would be nice if there was a small knife pocket.
    All in all though....... Glad I bought them. I'd buy them again. The good far outweigh the not-so-good.

    My husband says: This is a great pair of hunting pants. I like the pockets and it fits perfectly for me. I ordered a 34t and I am a 33-34. I like to layer so the one size up on the waist was just right. If I don’t wear a base layer the knee pads are little awkward when walking but I spot and stalk a lot and they more than make up for it while I am closing the distance on my knees.

    Great pant! Comes with knee pads, but they also can be removed. My new favorite pant for all around use. Sizing is the same as all my other Sitka pants. I wear a 34 blue Jean or 36 Sitka pant. These fit great. (6’0” 225lbs)

    I bought the Mountain pants and jacket last minute for an Oregon 5 day mule deer hunt. By far the best piece of equipment I had. Wind proof, quiet, incredibly comfortable, breathable, durable. Temps varied from 30 to 70 degrees. I layered when temps dropped and stayed very comfortable. Very versatile set!

    Sitka makes some great gear. These pants are no exception. Comfortable and quiet. Bought these to keep cool when the sun is shining, but also to have some water repellence if it starts raining. Great to hike in and lots of stretch for movement. I do suggest finding a store to try on sizes though as the fit may make your normal size not right with Sitka's sizing.

    I bought these for an elk hunt in New Mexico this fall. The temperatures ranged from 40 to 85 and these pants were perfect at keeping me warm in the mornings and cool in the afternoons. They were nearly silent while stalking and had quiet buttons on the pockets to easily grab gear. The pants held up great to hiking in brush and thorns. I ended up removing the knee pads since a didn’t need them, but would have been hesitant to leave them in if I did need them. They felt awkward while walking and didn’t seem to line up on the right spot on my knee. I will be using these more regularly as my hiking pants in the spring and fall on local trails.
