Great light weight hoodie for hunting
Bought this for turkey season and glad I did. Its kept the ticks off me here in the south and made me want to get a couple more for year round use.

I’ve been using the Sitka Equinox Hoody for both turkey and deer hunting, and it has become one of the most versatile and dependable pieces in my hunting gear lineup. Sitka has once again delivered a high-performance product tailored to hunters who demand comfort, functionality, and durability.

    Lightweight and Breathable Design

The Equinox Hoody excels in lightweight comfort, making it ideal for long days in the woods. It’s made from a thin, stretchable fabric that feels almost weightless but still provides enough durability to handle brush and branches. The breathable material ensures I stay cool, even during warmer mornings or when trekking through thick cover. It effectively wicks away sweat, keeping me dry and comfortable during high-exertion activities.

Whether I’m setting up in a blind for turkey or stalking deer in the early fall, this hoody keeps me comfortable without overheating.

    Bug-Repelling Features

One standout feature of the Sitka Equinox Hoody is its ability to repel bugs. During early-season hunts when mosquitoes, ticks, and other insects are at their peak, this hoody provides a protective barrier. The built-in insect-repellent properties save me from constantly swatting bugs or applying heavy layers of bug spray. I’ve noticed significantly fewer bites and bug encounters while wearing this, which allows me to focus entirely on the hunt.

    Camo Pattern and Concealment

The camo pattern is another win. Sitka’s advanced design blends seamlessly with natural environments, making it perfect for both turkey and deer hunting. Whether I’m sitting still in the woods or moving through open terrain, the pattern provides excellent concealment, helping me stay undetected by wary game.

The hood design is also well thought out. It provides excellent coverage and mobility without obstructing my view or hearing. Paired with a facemask, it offers full concealment for close encounters without sacrificing comfort.

    Fit and Functionality

The fit of the Equinox Hoody is spot on. It’s athletic yet not restrictive, allowing for easy layering underneath when temperatures drop. The four-way stretch fabric gives me the freedom to draw my bow or shoulder my rifle without feeling constrained. The thumb loops are a nice touch, keeping the sleeves in place when layering or using gloves.

Another practical feature is the zippered chest pocket, which is perfect for small essentials like a call, wind checker, or phone. It’s conveniently placed and doesn’t interfere with my movement.

    Durability and Versatility

Despite its lightweight feel, this hoody is incredibly durable. It holds up well to repeated use and rough terrain, showing no signs of wear after multiple hunts. Beyond hunting, I’ve found it to be an excellent choice for hiking, scouting, and other outdoor activities.

    Final Thoughts

The Sitka Equinox Hoody is a must-have for early-season hunters. Its lightweight and breathable design, insect-repellent capabilities, and camo pattern make it a standout piece of gear. Whether you’re chasing turkeys in the spring or stalking deer in the fall, this hoody keeps you comfortable, concealed, and focused. It’s an investment that pays off in both performance and versatility.

So far my son loves it, avid gamer, a great second layer or first layer, hoodie a nice fit with a easy face covering to pull up from the chin to give great camo coverage for the entire face without having to peak thru holes. Too cold to tell about insect protection yet! Great product!

The fit and feel is perfect. Cool to the touch. Incredibly stretchy but retains it's form. I've never liked hoods or face masks, but these are excellent. The hood doesn't impair peripheral vision. The mask doesn't fog up sunglasses but conceals well. Also doesn't ride up in the eyes. Thumb loops stay out of the way but secure the sleeves over the arms. Stretchy enough to roll up sleeves. Zippers are quality.

Heading to Kansas for a turkey hunt and this is perfect for what I need. Light weight, breathable, the torso is extra long so I can tuck it in my pants and ticks don't get in my waist line, the sleeves have the thumb loop so the sleeve doesn't ride up and expose my skin and let mosquito in.
Great product for spring, summer and early fall hunts.

I bought this off of Sitka's Website with the Equinox Guard Pants and gloves in the Subalpine pattern.

I bought them because I'm a wildlife photographer up here in Maine and I saw how bad the ticks were early in the season mid-March. I was pulling 1-2 dozen ticks off myself and my dogs.

I can genuinely say I haven't had a single tick-on-skin contact since I've bought this system. It's incredibly effective.

    Cons:
    - They do hold a fair amount of moisture and scent so I air dry pretty regularly and wash with Dead Down Wind.
    - The pants aren't very breathable, not bad, but you'll definitely sweat if you're moving at a slow-moderate pace during the summer.
